hi hinesbx
there is no outofthebox solution for dual monitor at linux. At my company we tried many ways to work on dual monitors with different resolutions, but we failed every time. Using Linux was too costly for such reasons so we switched to Windows.
I have at home one 9400 on a fedora 10 computer, at fresh install of fedora 10 i can use two 22' monitors at 1440*900 resolution but cannot use 1680*1050 yet. At windows it is a piece of cake to use.
Use lspci command at terminal
then find a line similar to this one
01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: nVidia Corporation Device 0641 (rev a1)
The 0641 is the pci id of vga card, in my case it is 0641.
You have to go to nvidia official site below and search your pci id.
http://us.download.nvidia.com/XFree8...ppendix-a.html
If you are lucky you can see your card (i am among unlucky ones)
D'load compatible drivers.
Stop all x server environment or restart your computer w/o graphical environment.
Use command sh to open your driver file.
If you are lucky it will install it, and compile your kernel.
(i was also unlucky here again)
Then set your visual settings to use your card.
Of course this is Linux world and nothing works out of the box!,
you will live such things every time you change softwares, hardwares and etc..
with huge amount of time consuming processes.
If your time is valuable use Windows.
Also here is how to install nvidia on Suse, hope helps!
